Please note that the phrase, "traffic police," for example, has different meanings in different countries. In some it refers just to officers who stand at junctions/intersections and direct the traffic whereas in other cultures it applies to officers on traffic patrol duties, in suitable vehicles. Seemingly minor differences such as this should be borne in mind when searching the following links.

International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) is stated to be "an international organization of training managers and executives dedicated to the improvement of public safety personnel. The mission of IADLEST is to research, develop and share information, ideas and innovations that assist states in establishing officers." Some of that information is specifically about police driver training and standards. [As all of the officers of IADLEST are American, and all of the web pages refer specifically to American states, the "International" part of the name might be a bit pre-emptive, but that doesn't stop this being a very good organization.]
