Aimee Irene Ellis died in a fireball. Her father writes: "...My purpose in telling this story is an attempt to make those of you who find it necessary to consume alcohol, to think about the utter stupidity of doing so and then climbing behind the wheel of a 2 ton steel machine and attempting to pilot it down a road occupied by other human beings. The results of doing so are buried in graves all over this country. Wake up!!!!..." If you have ever drunk alcohol before driving, please DO read what Aimee's father wrote.
All drivers need to know that it does not need a blood-alcohol level in excess of the legal limits to cause fatal crashes; evidence from around the world shows that significant danger starts when a person's BAC reaches just 0.05%. On this website we have prepared a chart showing blood-alcohol limits for drivers in 73 countries, around the world. The lowest limit in the USA is 0.08% and some states are still on 0.10%. The latter is higher than the limit in all except one of the other 72 countries with known BAC limits (Swaziland).
Another victim was Anna Armstrong White, who -- on September 9, 2002 -- was standing on the sidewalk in front of a radio station in Los Angeles when a driver got into his truck, reversed at high speed, crushing Anna between the truck and another vehicle. He proceeded to drag her body under his truck for another block before fleeing the scene.
