That people like Amy Seager have the courage to write and then publicize the heartrending stories of the deaths of their loved ones will never cease to amaze or impress me.

Imagine, just for one awful moment, that all three of your own children -- in this case, one son and twin daughters -- were out in a car, waiting at a railroad crossing for the train to pass, when another car comes along in which the driver is so busy chatting on his cell phone that he never even sees the waiting vehicle, and smashes into it. The fact that one of the Seager kids survived the debacle is perhaps a miracle, but read the full story and see whether it affects your opinion about drivers using cell phones.
